Ahhh I’m so jealous, China sounds amazing! I want to swim in lakes and go dancing! It seems all of Asia is fascinated with white people, especially light haired girls! Try not too wee with joy when you meet all the kids! LOVE YOU! xx

Hi all,

I just thought I’d upload some pictures from my trip..

I can’t get on facebook, so Juliet, Nicola, and Alice please send me your email address so I can email you guys!

It’s so hot here it’s untrue, it’s suppose to start getting cooler soon though. I’m having such a fun time. I’m currently living with four other boys (yuck), they are all nice though. I haven’t actually started teaching yet, we’ve just been training and so far so good!! Term starts a week on Saturday.

I’m enjoying the food, I’ve even eaten alot of fish :/ (which I’ve been enjoying). There are loads of street vendors that sell amazing food. Before I had a rice dish with meath that I’ve never seen before. It’s all so cheap, it cost me 10 Yuan which converts into about £1.00. I’m also getting good with the chopsticks, considering on the first night I was the only one without a clue how to use them.

Around the City we’re all local celebrities. People stop what they are doing and stare, come over and stare, take pictures etc. They’re all very friendly but I still feel like lady Gaga. They just don’t have many western people around. For instance to night, we all went swimming in the lake across from where we live (I’m not sure if we are allowed) and tens of people just sat watching us amazing. People actually stopped and started joining in. Also, twice a day they have traditional dancing, and things like this (for free) by the lake so I joined in and people watched for ages. I’ve never seen the place so popular, I think I’ll definitely join in again. I find it very strange that I HATE my pale pale skin, yet they love it. Constantly telling me so. Also my eyes have been popular, it’s definitely giving me a confidence boost.

Which leads me onto my weight-loss. I’m not sure how it’s going, to be honest, I haven’t really been trying very hard. I did try and weigh myself and I think I’ve lost 1lbs, I think I’ll wait now till tuesday. I need to get back into the swing of running. I really can’t let my hard work go to waste.

Tomorrow we have a promotional day, its to get more people to join the school. So I get to watch an actual lesson, I’m excited to see all the age groups.

Finally, before I go to bed; I cannot get use to the weird hole in the group toliets that don’t accept toilet roll and the COCKROACHES!!!! They really freak me out.

Anyway I’m off to bed, I have an early start then I’m out after :) I’ll try and blog again soon, there’s just sooo much to say..
